Giveaway for Taste of Abbot Kinney, Oct. 24

Mini Desserts @ Intelligentsia

Mini desserts sampled at Intelligentsia Venice during last year's Taste of Abbot Kinney, more photos on flickr set here!

With so many tasting events squeezed into a parking lot, sterile-looking studio and borderline-pretentious loungey venues, the Taste of Abbot Kinney is literally a breath of fresh air. Instead of being cramped in a confined space with long lines, this tasting event takes advantage of the great SoCal Autumn weather and pedestrian-friendly Abbot Kinney Blvd., allowing attendees to stroll up and down the famous street while [window] shopping from chic boutiques and enjoying food and beverage samples from its numerous eateries, caf├ęs and bars. It's great for vendors too, who don't have to worry about transporting, storing and prepping foods in an unfamiliar space.

And like last year, Taste of AK will benefiting the wonderful & worthwhile Inside Out Community Arts to help out underserved or at-risk middle school youth.

I had a fun time last year with fellow blogging and foodie friends revisitng some of my favorite eateries in the area (Jin Patisserie, 3 Square) while discovering new ones (Tasting Kitchen, the food trucks that park by the Brig.)

And once again, Taste of AK & I are doing a giveaway for this year's event on Oct. 24 from 3 to 7 p.m., where three lucky winners will get a "Delicious" package (30 tickets, worth $60) to use at Abbot Kinney's various vendors (and not just limited to food & drinks!)

To enter:

1. Comment on this post with your favorite Abbot Kinney place to eat/drink OR the one you're most looking forward to try, along with twitter username and email address (if I don't already know it.)
2. Tweet " I want to win @LAOCFoodie's @TasteofAK giveaway: http://bit.ly/agODH4 " (following either of us is optional, but appreciated)
3. "Like" Taste of Abbot Kinney on their official facebook page

I'll announce the lucky winners around noon on Friday, Oct. 22 (alternates will be drawn around 2 p.m. in case any do not respond in time.) So good luck (and while you're in a giveaway-entering mood, be sure to check out the Popchips one on my Foodie Fitness blog too!)

I don't think I have a favorite YET because I haven't tried out too many places, but I do love Lemonade for their cold sides and delicious lemonades. Or Gjelina for their delicious dinners.

The only restaurant I've been to at AK is Jin Patisserie but love having afternoon tea there! I would love to go there and sample tasting from other restaurants in that area.

I've never been to this event and I really really want to go. I have a sweet tooth so the stops that I'm really excited about are the dessert places :)

I am soo excited to try Ludo Truck, since it's pretty much impossible to snag reservations for Ludobites, and I have also heard good things about the Tasting Kitchen. Thanks for the reminder and this opportunity. My email is marilynchiu@gmail.com, sorry I don't have a twitter :\

My favorite Abbot Kinney place to eat at would have to be Gjelina. The outdoor patio is great ambiance and I love their butterscotch pot de creme. Hard to snag reservations last minute, but when I did, I wasn't disappointed! I'm also excited to try LudoTruck and Tlapazola the most.

I am so excited about this event! Not only is it on a great stretch of good eats and services, I also work with Inside Out Community Arts with their Teen Media Initiative!

I'm really stoked to get the chance to finally try the Ludo Truck, and of course, no visit to AK is complete without getting a little something from Intelligentsia!

I'm really looking forward to this. My fiance moved here from Chicago yesterday and I can't wait to show her what it is that's so great about the area. From the Lemonade to the Ludobites, to Abbott's Pizza and Joe's... there's so many great things to try!
